Liverpool take on Premier League strugglers Watford in the 5.30pm GMT kick-off later today hoping to take another small step on their inevitable journey to the title.

Jurgen Klopp’s Reds are 22 points clear of their nearest challengers, Manchester City, and are closing in on the quickest league win in history.

On the face of it, 19th-placed Watford seem an unlikely to side to spoil Liverpool’s unbeaten season, and given their position in the relegation zone and without a win in their past five games.

But under Nigel Pearson they have been far more competitive, particularly at Vicarage Road, and they are unlikely to roll over for their high-flying rivals when points are so precious in their survival fight.

Here’s everything you need to know:

The Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson remains out with a hamstring injury. Joe Gomez has a small knock too. Watford have a full squad to choose from.
