24 Jun – While it seems just like yesterday that "The Wedding Diary" was launched in cinemas in Malaysia and Singapore to commercial success, director Adrian Teh is not one to sit idly by and bask in it, as he already has the sequel well underway.

Principal photography of the Malaysian director's film will begin in Singapore this 30 June, before moving on to Penang and Kuala Lumpur in July.

Fans will be excited to know that the cast of the original which includes Malaysian singer-actor-director Ah Niu , Hong Kong star Elanne Kwong, award-winning actress Kara Hui, Singapore veteran actors Jack Choo and Marcus Chin will be returning for the sequel while Taiwanese actress Cynthia Wang will be joining the cast as a new member.

According to Adrian Teh, he is "really excited to be working on "The Wedding Diary II" and am glad to have the opportunity to work with the great team again."

He added, "Since this is the second collaboration, I believe the tacit spirit among the team will be able to bring greater energy and sparks to the sequel. "The Wedding Diary II" has a really fun and interesting story, so I am really looking forward to working on it!"

The romantic comedy is produced through collaboration between Clover Films, GSC Movies, Mega Cineplex, Asia Tropical Films, Universe Entertainment and STAR Chinese Movies (SCM).

Mr Lim Teck, Managing Director of Clover Films shared, "We are very proud to be working on a sequel so soon after the first movie. We are especially delighted to have an established regional powerhouse such as STAR Chinese Movies come on board as investor."

Mr Tung Yow Kong, Senior Manager, Distribution of Golden Screen Cinemas Sdn Bhd, remarked, "We are glad to be working once again with all our fellow co-producers to produce this sequel and that Southeast Asian co-productions has finally come of age and is being accepted by Chinese audiences all over the world."

The first "The Wedding Diary" follows the story of Daniel (Aniu), an engineer from a humble Malaysian Hokkien family, and Tina (Elanne Kwong) a beauty from a wealthy Singaporean Cantonese family, when they decide to get hitched. Chaos and hilarity ensue due to the various cultural and societal clashes between both families.

"The Wedding Diary II" is expected to be released in cinemas during the Chinese New Year holidays in February 2013. The movie will be co-distributed in Singapore by Clover Films and Golden Village Pictures, while distributed in Malaysia by GSC Movies.
