Wednesday's Jenna Ortega shuts down rumour she's dating Johnny Depp
Wednesday star Jenna Ortega has responded to rumours that she is dating Johnny Depp, calling the claims "ridiculous".
Speculation online has linked the two romantically, though Ortega has firmly shut down all the comments in a post on her Instagram Stories, confirming they had never met or worked together.
"This is so ridiculous I can't even laugh," she reportedly wrote (via NME). "I have never met or worked with Johnny Depp in my life. Please stop spreading lies and leave us alone."

Depp himself has also responded to the rumours, a representative saying: "Mr. Depp has no personal or professional relationship with Ms. Ortega whatsoever.
"He has never met her or spoken to her. He is not involved in any project with her, nor does he intend to be. He is appalled by these baseless and malicious rumours that are intended to harm his reputation and career."
Ortega is perhaps best known for starring as Wednesday Addams in Netflix's Wednesday, which is currently preparing for a second season.

Speaking recently about the next episodes, the star said they wouldn't focus on romantic storylines, telling fellow actress Elle Fanning via Variety: "We're ditching any romantic love interest for Wednesday, which is really great.
"We've decided we want to lean into the horror aspect of the show a little bit more. Because it is so lighthearted, and a show like this with vampires and werewolves and superpowers, you don't want to take yourself too seriously."
It comes after the star revealed she put her "foot down" on some story elements on the show, including Wednesday being in a love triangle.
Wednesday streams on Netflix – season 2 has been confirmed.
