SINGAPORE — Here is a round-up of sports events and developments in the past week (27 January to 2 February):

Inaugural S’pore Women’s Open to be held in November

The inaugural Singapore Women’s Open golf tournament will be held from 6 to 8 November at the Tanah Merah Country Club, and will feature a total prize money of US$864,000 (S$1.18 million).

The tournament, which is co-sanctioned by the Singapore Golf Association and the Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association, is set to feature current world No. 9 Minjee Lee of Australia, former world No. 1 Lydia Ko of New Zealand and up-and-coming golfers such as Yealimi Noh, Paphangkorn Tavatanakit, Sui Xiang and Yuka Saso.

Its organising committee will be advised by women’s golf great Pak Se Ri.
