(Reuters) - Chris Brunt is in contention for a return to first-team football with West Bromwich Albion next month after a long injury layoff, the Premier League club said on Tuesday. The Northern Ireland international midfielder has been out of action for six months since rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in February. "Chris is making good progress -- he's doing well and now back in training," Mark Gillett, Albion's director of performance, told the club's website (www.wba.co.uk). "Obviously, we need to balance that with the fact that he has been out for the last six months. We will make sure he is carefully managed over the next few weeks." Albion, who have picked up four points from their first three league games, visit Bournemouth on Saturday. (Reporting by Ian Rodricks in Bengaluru; Editing by Ian Chadband)
