WeWork launches Beach Centre, ties up with CapitaLand at Funan

Coworking giant WeWork launched its first Southeast Asian site, WeWork Beach Centre on Dec 14. This marks WeWork’s 200th location globally. The coworking space at Beach Centre spans three floors and has more than 690 desks.

WeWork is ramping up its growth in Singapore, with a second location at 71 Robinson Road in the CBD, slated to open in early 2018, and a third at Funan. CapitaLand Mall Trust, owner of Funan, announced that WeWork will lease 40,000 sq ft of space at Funan. It will occupy two floors at Funan’s North Office Block, namely at Level 4 and 5. According to CapitaLand, Level 4 is the “prime connector space” linking the office blocks with the retail component.

Companies that are WeWork members include American tech company HP Inc., cloud communications services company Twilio, as well as start-ups and SMEs such as restaurant reservation booking app Chope, digital insurance app PolicyPal and Wantedly, Japan-based social recruiting site.
