What were 71 Ferraris doing at the Floating Platform?

Singapore's Ferrari club forms the number 16 for the 28th SEA Games countdown.

The distinct rev of one Farrari engine is enough to turn heads.

But it's not every day you see over 70 of such race cars gather downtown for an afternoon. Not even during F1 season.

As part of the 28th SEA Games Final Countdown, 71 drivers from the Ferrari Owners' Club Singapore (FOCS) met at the Marina Bay Floating Platform on 2 May to form the number 16.

The "16" represents the Club's 16th anniversary in Singapore, as well as day 16 of the 28th SEA Games Final Countdown.

It took one and a half hours for the drivers to get into position.

The countdown began 50 days before the Games' opening, and will culminate in the Opening Ceremony on 5 June. Tickets to the Opening Ceremony are sold out, but you can watch the full show live online or through your mobile devices.

This isn't the only group to use vehicles to form a visual spectacle as part of the countdown. The 41st Battalion, Singapore Armoured Regiment used tanks and soldiers to form the number 41 in April. The formation took less than an hour and involved over 500 soldiers.
