Following the cancellation of this year's summer Love Island, ITV bosses ended up swooping in to save our summer evenings at home by announcing they would be airing the first season of Love Island Australia in its place. There were tears, tantrums and plenty of drama. But are any of the couples still together today?

Tayla and Grant: Mugged off

Tayla Damir and Grant Crapp ended up winning the series, but their romance outside the villa was brief. That was mainly because it was rumoured Grant had a secret girlfriend the entire time he was in Spain, and that the only reason he went on the show was to promote his clothing line. Grant denied the rumours, but just two weeks after their split he was back with her.

Eden and Erin: Mugged off

Eden Dally and Erin Barnett were one the few Love Island Australia season 1 couples that hooked up from the very start of the series. However, the pair announced their break up just two months after the show finished. "We look back and cherish the time we have spent together, the memories we have created, in both Spain and in Australia," they said at the time. "We can't thank each and everyone of you enough for the support and love you have shown us, but we have to be honest within ourselves as we realise that our forever as a couple is no longer."

Josh and Amelia: Still together

There's at least one Love Island Australia season 1 success story - Josh Moss and Amelia Plummer. The couple made things official after leaving the Spanish villa and are still together today. But the relationship has not been without its ups and downs, with Amelia recently telling her followers they hit a rough patch while isolating together in lockdown. "I know this period has put a lot of strain and pressure on so many relationships," Amelia wrote on Instagram. "So many couples are dealing and working through issues atm. And hell, we were too 🙋🏽♀️ Josh and I are back on track now, we have pushed through and become even stronger and closer. But wow there were so many hurdles through this period hehe that’s all. Lucky I adore the lil thang."

Dom and Shelby: Mugged off

Dom and Shelby split in August 2018, telling fans at the time: "We have decided that we are best off as friends. This is something we had both recently discussed and agreed upon and is not a sudden decision. We are very close friends and will continue to talk to each other. Unfortunately with the distance and our busy schedules it is difficult for anything to progress further with us." Dom then ended up dating co-star Tayla, but they ended up splitting a year later.

Millie and Mark: Mugged off

Props to Millie and Mark for giving their relationship a good go (yes, eight months is impressive in the reality dating world) despite only forming a bond right at the end of the series. The pair ended up splitting in March 2019, with Millie telling her followers that they're still good friends. "Mark and I have had such an amazing time together and we will forever cherish our special moments, unfortunately at this point in time we have decided we are both going in different directions and have to part ways, we still remain very close friends."
