David Walliams and Jodie Whittaker confirmed for new 'Who Do You Think You Are?'
Who Do You Think You Are? is returning to BBC One in October with a brand new line-up of stars.
Jodie Whittaker, David Walliams, Liz Carr and Ruth Jones will all be seen in the upcoming series of the genealogy show as they explore their family history.
Doctor Who star Whittaker is set to uncover some uncomfortable truths surrounding her great-great grandfather in Yorkshire while Walliams is delighted to discover his great-great grandfather made a career as a travelling entertainer.

Whittaker said of the experience: “Who Do You Think You Are? took me on an incredible journey through some of my family history. I discovered people and events that I had no idea existed before this.
“I was lucky to go home and see my Mum and Dad, lucky to see places I'd never been to before, and lucky to meet and shake hands with (!) some wonderful and intelligent people whose insight into history blew my mind.”
"And only in February did I embark on this journey, and knowing where we are now, it feels even more special to have had this adventure.”
Meanwhile, the Britain's Got Talent judge said of his time on the show: “I’m delighted to have taken part in the series. I started off the journey knowing very little about my ancestry. In making the programme I found out lots of family history I would never would have learned of.
"I was pleased to discover that being an entertainer runs in the family."
Gavin and Stacey star and writer Jones learns of her paternal grandfather's role in the creation of the NHS while Silent Witness actor Carr travels to Northern Ireland where she uncovers an ancestor’s role in an attempted murder.
Abigail Priddle, BBC commissioning editor for specialist factual, said: “We’re so excited about the return of Who Do You Think You Are? one of our most watched history series.
“Viewers have much to be excited about too, with an amazing line-up of celebrities set to delve in their ancestries and uncover lost connections and unfamiliar histories.”

It will be the 17th series of the popular programme, which is produced by Wall to Wall, to be broadcast.
