Arsenal have unveiled their new arrival Willian after completing the free signing of the former Chelsea midfielder.

The 32-year-old was present at Arsenal's London Colney training ground on Friday after signing a three-year deal worth around £100,000-a-week.

The Brazilian international becomes Mikel Arteta's first summer signing after he turned down a two-year offer from Chelsea.

Willian had hoped to stay at Stamford Bridge after an emphatic end to the season, but negotiations broke down with the London club unwilling to match his three-year requirement.

Arsenal met the demands, however, with Arteta looking to utilise Willian's wealth of experience and tactical versatility in the coming seasons.

The Gunners are also desperate to tie down Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to a new contract, and believe their early sign of intent will tempt their captain into signing a long-term deal of his own.

Willian wrote an open letter to Chelsea fans confirming his departure after seven years at the club last week.

And following his official confirmation as an Arsenal player, Willian has revealed the long-term project of Arteta as a key factor behind his move, insisting he has signed to compete both in the Premier League and in Europe.

Willian was spotted holding up and wearing the new club's new jersey for the 2020/21 campaign as he posed for photographs.
