Woman, 39, charged with murder of man, 51, in Ang Mo Kio

SINGAPORE - A Vietnamese woman was charged over the murder of a 51-year-old man on Friday (16 July).

Nguyen Ngoc Giau, 39, was charged in the hospital, where she was receiving treatment after the alleged incident.

She is accused of killing Choy Wang Keung at around 12.55am on Thursday along the fifth storey corridor of Block 562 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3. The two were said to have been known to each other, although their relationship was not revealed in court documents.

The police were alerted to the case of a dispute at about around the same time at a residential block in Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3. Police officers who arrived at the scene found a man and Nguyen with multiple wounds outside the unit.

Both were conveyed conscious to the hospital, where the man later died from his injuries.

Nguyen will return to court on 6 August.

If convicted of murder, she faces the death penalty.
