PLDT threw their hat in the prepaid WiFi ring with their latest offering, the PLDT Home Prepaid WiFi. It’s an LTE-powered WiFi modem that can connect up to five devices and offers LAN connectivity. It’s a small and portable modem but it doesn’t slouch when it comes to internet speed. Plus, it comes with free 10GB of data valid for 7 days—right out of the box.

How to Set Up Your PLDT Home Prepaid WiFi Device

The package comes with the unit itself with the sim already installed, AC power adapter, an ethernet cable for LAN connections, device stand, and the quick guides and documentation. On the side of the unit, you will find the reset button, the on/off toggle, the LAN port, and the AC port.

  1. Upon unboxing, plug the modem and turn the unit on. Attach the device stand underneath to make it sturdy.
  2. Connect your desktop or phone to the default WiFi signal from the modem. The default WiFi name and password can be found at the back of the unit.
  3. Go to www.pldthomewifisettings.net and log on to the PLDT Home Prepaid WiFi dashboard using the default username and password: pldthome.
  4. From the WiFi dashboard, click Settings and click WiFi Settings on the left side.
  5. Change the default WiFi name and password. Once you’re done, connect to your new WiFi.

The modem has four light indicators on front: the Power, LAN, WiFi, and Signal lights. The Power button will light up once you turn the unit on. The LAN or WiFi will light up, depending on the type of connection you’re using. The Signal will turn blue if you have an excellent signal, green if you have a good signal, and red if you don’t have any signal.

  3. Head to your WiFi’s dashboard and get the code from the SMS tab.
  4. Once verified, nominate a four-digit code to secure the Globe at Home app.
  5. You can choose to customize your account. If you don’t want to, just tap Next.
  6. You now have access to your WiFi’s balance and remaining data.
