A new and more comfortable bus terminal is now open to the public in Cubao, Quezon City.
Vice President Leni Robredo is one of the guests during the grand launch of the new Araneta Center Busport.
“Everyone of you knows that I prefer riding buses and I know the difficulties that every goes thru…and I’m very glad that finally we have a world class bus terminal,” Vice President Robredo said.
The bus port will serve as a transport hub for 19 provincial bus companies that will transport passengers to destinations in Southern Tagalog, Bicol, Visayas and even to Mindanao.
It is complete with airport-like facilities starting from the fully air-conditioned passenger lounge.
It also has a check-in baggage counter for passengers with more than 1o kilograms baggage.
It also features a centralized automated ticketing system and LCD screens where passengers can check bus trip schedules.
Furthermore, persons with disabilities, children and elderly are given priority in the area.
And as part of the security measures, busport management also prohibits bringing in firearms and other deadly weapons, fire hazard materials and agri-products like vegetables.
