World Dog Show kicks off in Madrid

STORY: The World Dog Show will bring together more than 15,000 purebred which will battle across 70 rings in front of international referees until Sunday (June 26).

Madrid’s edition counts with a total of 250 of the almost 400 breeds recognized by International Canine Federation.

Dutchman Philippe Maier, who traveled two days by car to get to the competition, was really happy with his dog's first award.

“He did what he usually does, winning,” he said.

This is the third time that Spain is hosting the World Dog Show after the 1983 Madrid and 1992 Valencia editions.
