World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) revealed on Sunday (26 February) that its vice-president of talent development, Canyon Ceman, was here in Singapore last month as part of its global search for prospective superstars.

Ceman was shown in a video posted on WWE’s website attending Singapore Pro Wrestling (SPW)’s “Unchained In Changi” event on 27 January. Several local wrestlers, including SPW co-founder Andruew “The Statement” Tang, were also featured in the video.

Part of Ceman’s job is to scout athletic talent at events and oversee the company’s developmental programme WWE NXT. WWE is a publicly listed entertainment company that deals primarily in professional wrestling.

In the video, Ceman, who has been with WWE since 2012, says that WWE is “going to bring you the best talents from all over this planet”. He also visited other countries in the region, including Malaysia and the Philippines.

The SPW said in a Facebook post that it was “immensely proud to have hosted WWE Officials” at their event.

“Attracting the eyes of the world is not our efforts alone, as we’d like to thank our supporters and our doubters for driving us to new levels of success… it is anyone’s guess what SPW can accomplish,” the SPW added.
