Yabusame archery steals the show at Japanese shrine
Traditional Japanese horseback archery, known as "yabusame," was showcased on Wednesday at the Nikko Toshogu Shrine in Tochigi Prefecture.
Ten archers, dressed in colourful traditional attire, shot arrows at targets while riding along a 250-metre course, thrilling onlookers who cheered with each hit.
This event is part of the shrine's autumn grand festival, which also includes the Hyakumonozoroi Sennin Musha Gyoretsu parade, a reenactment of the procession of Tokugawa Ieyasu's remains.
