Create a two-minute video. Win up to S$15,000.

Two minutes.

A top prize of S$15,000 cash.

And all you need is just your imagination.

That, in essence, captures Yahoo Singapore’s inaugural made-for-web video competition. Called Yahoo Fast Flicks, we’re looking at unearthing the next budding video talent. You can be a pro, an amateur or just a dreamer — all you need to do is go out and shoot a two-minute video that shouts “you”.

The theme for the contest is YOLO (that, in non-millenial speak, is You Only Live Once).

We’ll start accepting submissions from October 7-21, so we’re giving you plenty of time to go out and do your thing. The best 30 entries will be handpicked and showcased across the Yahoo Singapore network and social media.

The final top 10 entries and their teams will be invited to the grand finale on November 14, when you'll battle it out for the top spot by making a final pitch to our esteemed judging panel: award-winning filmmaker and chief executive officer of Zhao Wei Films and Gorylah Pictures Eric Khoo, Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF) director Zhang Wenjie, and CEO of Infinite Studios and SGIFF Chairman Mike Wiluan.

What are we looking for?
It’s pretty simple, really. Shoot a short high-definition video of no longer than two minutes (including opening and closing credits). We are open to all genres, from documentaries to animation, as long as your video is original content, and does not infringe on third party rights. Apart from the technical requirements below, the sky’s the limit.

What are the prizes?
First prize winners will take home a cash prize of S$15,000, a trophy, a Nikon DSLR D810 camera and a AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G lens. First runner-up will receive S$5,000, a trophy, and a Nikon COOLPIX P600, while second runner-up will receive S$3,000, a trophy, and a Nikon COOLPIX P600. Each winner will also receive one ticket to attend SGIFF’s Opening Gala, Silver Screen Awards, and Closing Gala held in December. They will also have their videos hosted on SGIFF's online properties, and will have their videos showcased at The Substation 2015's First Take event.

Who can participate?
The contest is open to all Singaporeans (including Singaporeans living overseas), permanent residents, and foreigners working or studying in Singapore. There is no age limit for this contest, however, if you are below 18 years of age, we will need written consent from your parent or legal guardian.
