A recent survey by the Institute of Policy Studies found that nearly 20% of young Singaporeans (aged between 19 and 30 years) want to emigrate, while nearly a third of that group would consider doing so within five years.

The study found that Australia was the most-favoured destination, with New Zealand, the US and the UK following in second, third and fourth, respectively.

The same study found that nearly 80 per cent of respondents preferred being a citizen of Singapore than any other country, and 77 per cent thought Singapore a better country than most.
