A Singapore-based investor known as MetaKovan recently spent US$69.3 million (S$93.2 million) on a digital artwork – artist Beeple's compilation of image files, titled Everydays – which was sold as a non-fungible token (NFT).
Non-fungible-tokens (NFTs) "can't be exchanged for another asset of the same type, and can instead only be transferred in exchange for some sort of money, typically ethereum or bitcoin". The market for NFTs is exploding in popularity, with even individual tweets being sold this way.
