After years of arrests, raids, book bans, police harassment, a travel ban (only just lifted by Prime Minister Mahthir, coincidentally the same day that Najib and his wife Rosmah were added to the no-fly list), and a laundry list of sedition charges, Zunar is finally seeing not only his work available for public consumption, but also for sale.
It’s been a long road, and Zunar’s commitment to bravely critiquing the political environment through his images under such duress is so commendable that we’re heading out to buy a copy of each.
Support your heroes, and remember as always, there’s a reason they say that the pen is mightier than the sword.
