Yishun molester charged in court

A 23-year-old man has been charged in court on Wednesday for allegedly molesting a woman in her bedroom, reported The Straits Times (ST).

Muhammad Idzuan Arifin is alleged to have sneaked into the 22-year-old woman’s bedroom at Yishun on 21 January through an unlocked main door before kissing her on the neck. He also stroked her thighs and groin area, according to the broadsheet.

The suspect fled when the victim resisted and cried for help, which woke her family members. She and her family members then gave chase, but lost the suspect mid-way, according to ST.

A police spokesman told Yahoo! Singapore that the suspect was arrested at Yishun Street 21 by Ang Mo Kio Division on Monday evening.

If convicted, he could be jailed between two to 10 years, and caned.
