Yorkshire Shepherdess Amanda Owen says neither she nor her husband are romantic
Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen has said she and husband Clive Owen are not very romantic.
The 47-year-old Yorkshire Shepherdess has been married to the 66-year-old farmer for 21 years and they have nine children together. Last week they confirmed in a joint statement that rumours their marriage was under strain were true.
In an interview given to OK! magazine before the reports of relationship struggles Amanda was asked who is the most romantic out of the couple.

She said: "I don’t think either of us are! I don’t think it’s in our make-up."

Speaking about the secret to longevity in their marriage she said: "Everything we do is interchangeable. Clive will serve afternoon tea and change nappies, I’ll shear sheep and shovel s**t. It doesn’t matter who does what, we’re all on the same side."
Amanda added that Clive is "absolutely" a hands on father.
She added: "At certain times of year, it’s all hands on deck and all tasks on the farm are interchangeable.
There’s no one hat for any one person and I think that’s a great life lesson."
The couple are parents to Raven, 20, Reuben, 17, Miles, 15, Edith, 12, Violet, ten, Sidney, nine, Annas, seven, Clemmie, five, and Nancy, four.
Asked about having any more children Amanda said: "I don’t know! If anyone knows anything it’s honestly that I have not got a plan. I plan for today and maybe tomorrow and that’s where it stops.
"I think we should all give ourselves a bit of a break when it comes to parenting. As long as the kids are happy, well-fed and washed… that will do!"
Clive and Amanda said in a joint statement last week: "With the TV show and the books we've always aimed to show the reality of life on the farm, and just like any marriage we have our stresses and strains, coupled with all the complexities of what we do on the farm and bringing up nine kids.
"We're a normal family, and we've never said our marriage is perfect. Unfortunately, the constant intrusion into our lives from the media has amplified a rocky patch that we're going through.”
The couple met in 1995, when she was 21 and he was 42. Clive's first wife - of 13 years - had recently left him and Amanda went to work on his farm as a shepherdess.
They run the 2000-acre Ravenseat Farm in Swaledale, Yorkshire Dales and entered the spotlight in 2011, appearing in The Dales with Adrian Edmondson.
They have since featured in Ben Fogle’s New Lives In The Wild, made guest appearances on This Morning, and have starred in their own Channel 4 reality show Our Yorkshire Farm since 2018.
