You’re About to Be Shook by the ‘Riverdale’ Actors’ Real Ages
Throughout pretty much all of pop culture history, the high school kids that audiences have seen on their screens were not played by anyone remotely close to being a teenager. Shocker: Riverdale is no different. You might know every intimate detail of Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse’s IRL relationship, for example, but do you actually know how old they are? Here’s the deal.
KJ Apa
KJ plays 18-year-old Archie Andrews, the musician, wrestler, boxer, former prison inmate, and, of course, football player. And let’s not forget his on-again, off-again relationship with Veronica.
KJ was actually born in New Zealand, in case you were having trouble deciphering that accent. But unlike his castmates, he’s been notoriously single through his Riverdale leading-man run. And if you can’t get enough of Riverdale’s (second) favorite redhead (ILY, Cheryl), you can catch him in 2017’s A Dog’s Purpose, 2018’s The Hate U Give, and 2019’s The Last Summer.

Lili Reinhart
Lili plays teenager Betty Cooper, who was in love with Archie until he turned her down. But that’s okay, because we all know she was meant to find Jughead. Betty is half of our favorite bestie duo with Veronica, and yes, we are jealous of their friendship.
Lili grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and has been acting and dancing since she was 10. Those dance lessons paid off because we’ve seen Lili in 2019’s Hustlers as well as the Charlie’s Angels reboot. Oh, and she’s def dating Cole Sprouse IRL.

Camila Mendes
Camila plays Betty’s bestie Veronica Lodge. Veronica, aka Archie’s former flame, moved to Riverdale from NYC after her father was arrested. Classic story. While a lot of people have family problems, few have to deal with their father trying to murder their high school boyfriend. We feel for you, Veronica.
Cami actually landed her role on Riverdale while still at NYU. And since, she has been in Netflix’s 2019 movie The Perfect Date (you know, the one with Noah Centineo) but is mainly known for her spot on the teen drama. We’re sad to report that her relationship with Charles Melton ended at the end of last year. Still crying.

Cole Sprouse
Cole is the oldest cast member impersonating a teenager, but he definitely looks the youngest, so we’ll let it pass. The former child star dyed his hair to become our beloved 18-year-old Jughead, who is Archie’s best friend, Betty’s boyfriend, and former drug runner to Penny Peabody.
Cole and his twin brother, Dylan, had taken a break from acting after The Suite Life and attended NYU. Since landing his role on Riverdale, he’s also starred in 2019’s Five Feet Apart. As far as we know, he’s STILL dating Lili, regardless of those summer 2019 rumors.

Madelaine Petsch
Madelaine plays 19-year-old Cheryl Blossom. And Cheryl is THAT. BISH. Head cheerleader and student body president who refers to herself as the Queen Bee. Oh, and she and her girlfriend, Toni, have their own gang called The Pretty Poisons. Can we join?
Madelaine is mainly known for Riverdale but seems to be branching out too—we’ll see her in the upcoming 2020 thriller Sightless.
