KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi wants the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) to help regain the six seats in Felda land schemes from the opposition in the 14th general election.
Zahid said he was confident that under the leadership of Felda chairman Tan Sri Shahrir Abdul Samad, Felda will restore its image among the people.
“We have 54 constituencies in Felda and we lost six to the opposition. So, the task of Felda and the Malaysian Felda Youth Council (MFYC) is to help recapture the six seats in the upcoming election,” he told a press conference after launching the 7th MFYC annual general meeting here today.
Zahid said he hoped that Felda would identify young Felda leaders to prepare them to be leaders in the future.
He also reminded Felda to establish a paradigm shift in order to form a new chapter for Felda settlers in particular.
