Zendaya Pays Homage to Cher in a Vintage Gold Naked Dress
Zendaya took her megawatt glamour to Cleveland, Ohio, this weekend to attend the 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.
She walked the red carpet at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in a golden naked dress that paid perfect homage to Cher, whom the actor had the immense honor of inducting into the hall of fame.
“Where do I even begin? Cher is not one person,” Zendaya said. “Her name is just as legendary as her legacy.”
Zendaya’s gown for the evening was a vintage Bob Mackie design from 2001 that closely resembled a golden gown that Cher wore in 1972 also by the designer. Mackie created some of the music icon’s most iconic looks, many of which are being displayed in an exhibit at the hall of fame.
Zendaya’s dress had a twisted halterneck and a completely open bodice that was broken up by golden straps that crisscrossed across her abdomen and morphed into a low-rise skirt. This one came up like a diamond on the Euphoria star’s navel and dropped down at the sides, exposing her hip muscles. It draped down to the carpet and featured a super-high slit up the center. The entire dress was a transparent beige covered in Art Deco-esque golden lines encrusted with small glittering beads, jewels, and crystals.
Zendaya wore the striking gown—which seemed like one pulled straight out of Cher’s concert closet—with a snow white silk trench coat. It had a sharp, dramatic collar and shimmery golden accent lines to match the dress.
She finished the look with pointy gold heels, blush makeup, and a slick straight hairdo.
