There is no doubt about it, Zendaya is one of our favourite stars to watch on the red carpet. Over the past few years, the actress – thanks partly to her stylist and image architect Law Roach – has pulled off some of the most highly-rated red-carpet looks, from her bright and beautiful Oscars' look to the times she has subtly paid tribute to the movie she is promoting with what she wears. But, perhaps our favourite thing about Zendaya's approach to the red carpet is how she so often dips into the archives, choosing the most show-stopping vintage pieces.
The actress has turned to vintage on numerous occasions, wearing everything from vintage Valentino to Versace, while also often paying homage to a specific look worn by another star, like when she emulated Beyoncé's 2003 BET Awards ensemble.
Of course, Zendaya is not the only star to embrace vintage on the red carpet. The likes of Kim Kardashian and Bella Hadid have been huge champions of archival catwalk looks too, and are part of a bigger movement towards consumers embracing vintage fashion, and that is certainly something to celebrate.
“Wearing a vintage gown on the red carpet relays a strong message of new consumption – vintage today is a lifestyle more than a trend,” Sophie Hersan, Vestiaire Collective’s fashion director and co-founder told us of the trend. “I think this decade will see this movement grow even bigger, vintage allows a celebrity to be glamorous and celebrate beautiful designs from the past whilst representing something more than fashion, making a stand for sustainability.”
Below, we remember all of Zendaya's best vintage moments on the red carpet so far.
