Zhang Ziyi denies she was the "Happy Camp" diva

16 Aug - Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi recently expressed frustration that the public is pointing their finger at her as the person who actress Li Xiang called a "diva".

As reported on Epoch Times, Li recently appeared on Kevin Tsai's new show and shared an experience she had while she was still hosting the long-running show, "Happy Camp".

The TV personality shared that an actress with a three-character name was invited to be the guest on one of the episodes, and flew from Beijing to Changsha to do the show. However, the said actress later refused to do the show, causing trouble for everybody.

Li also dropped two other hints, saying that the actress is still as popular now as she was back in those days, and that she came from a family involved in entertainment.

Viewers who saw the show quickly point their fingers towards Zhang, based on a 2002 report of her secret trip to Changsha. On the other hand, Zhang's fans quickly defended the actress, saying that Zhang did not fulfill all the criteria, since she did not come from a showbiz family as Liang has mentioned.

Zhang immediately went on Weibo to deny the rumours, and asked Li Xiang to "come save me". Li responded with a laugh, saying, "You don't have to act like a diva. You're already a big star."
