- 14 new cases as of 3pm on Friday (16 September), according to data on the New Environment Agency website.
- New cluster declared in Sengkang; 4 of the latest cases linked to existing Aljunied cluster
- Total number of locally transmitted Zika cases is 369, with 8 clusters
Earlier reports:
- Singapore’s Zika virus strains are likely to have “evolved from a strain that was already circulating in South-east Asia” since the 1970s, local scientists say.
- There is a potential new cluster forming in the Ubi Crescent area, involving two previously reported cases and a new case on Thursday (8 September).
- Suspected Zika cases are no longer required to be isolated while waiting for test results as of from Tuesday. From Wednesday (7 September), MOH will extend subsidies for the Zika test to all Singaporeans with Zika symptoms.
