AVA investigating new incident of dead cat found in Yishun

The Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority said Tuesday (19 January) that it is investigating the latest case of a dead cat found in Yishun.

A photo of a dead cat in a drain at block 361 Yishun Ring Road was posted on Facebook on Tuesday (19 January) by cat interest group “Yishun 326 Tabby Cat”.

“We just received a report that a bloodied dead cat has been found this morning in a drain at the above location. We appeal URGENTLY FOR INFORMATION AND FOR WITNESSES to come forward. Thank you,” the post said.

According to the Singapore Police Force, no report related to the incident has been made.

This could be the 20th case of cat abuse in the neighbourhood in recent months.

Meanwhile, 40-year-old Lee Wai Long, who was charged last month for animal cruelty for allegedly throwing a cat from a block in Yishun, was granted bail of $10,000 earlier Tuesday. Lee was said to have thrown the cat from the 13th floor of block 115B Yishun Ring Road on 30 October 2015.
