19th HK Film Critic Society Awards named no Best Actress

17 Jan – The 2012 Hong Kong Film Critic Society award had finally announced its winners, but surprised many with no award for Best Actress.

According to Groove Asia website, it was revealed that the judges have decided to forgo the category after coming to an agreement that there was limited room for development for actresses in Hong Kong's 2012 films.

Meanwhile, actor Chapman To was awarded with the Best Actor accolade, defeating the best contender, "Cold War" actor Tony Leung (Kar Fai), in the hotly debated category.
