Planes sent Thursday to check the spot where Chinese satellite images showed possible debris from the missing Malaysian jetliner flight MH370 found nothing, Malaysia's civil aviation chief said, deflating the latest lead in the six-day hunt.
Adding to the mystery, The Wall Street Journal reported that U.S. investigators suspect the plane flew on for four hours once it lost contact with air traffic controllers.

Lost MH370 flew on for hours after vanishing from radar, reports Wall Street Journal
American investigators suspect that Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 stayed in the air for about four hours past the time it reached its last confirmed location, the Wall Street Journal reported today.
The business paper said this raised the possibility that the Boeing 777-200ER jet could have flown on for hundreds of additional kilometres under conditions that remain murky.

Two dead as car hits crowd at Texas SXSW festival
A car ran through barricades and into a crowd at a music and film festival in the US state of Texas early Thursday, killing two people and injuring 21, police told AFP.
The driver is in custody after the incident at South By Southwest festival in the state capital Austin.

Dead Indian guru in freezer for 'deep meditation'
An Indian guru declared dead has been in a deep freezer in his ashram for nearly six weeks with followers confident he will return to life to lead them, his spokesman said.
Devotees placed Ashutosh Maharaj, whom authorities declared clinically dead on January 29, in the freezer and have been watching over his body in the sprawling ashram in a small town in northern Punjab state.
