Buyers rue high price of new 'low cost' iPhone
The supposedly “cheaper” iPhone 5C is welcomed to muted fanfare. The first customer in line for the new iPhone at a flagship store in Sydney, 33-year-old Jimmy Gunawan, said that he was surprised to have queued for a shorter time than when the iPhone 4S was launched.

Chinese police seize more than 20,000kg of fake beef
Police have confiscated more than 20,000kg of "beef" from a factory in northwest China's Shaanxi province. The fake beef was found to be actually made from pork, which had been treated with chemicals such as paraffin wax and industrial salts to make it look like beef.

Hundreds of illegal cable TV decoders seized in Singapore
Hundreds of illegal set-top boxes at a storage facility in Singapore were seized during a police raid earlier this week. StarHub said it has been tracking a syndicate that was distributing sales flyers for the sale of illegal set-top boxes that claim to be able to unscramble StarHub TV content since early 2013. After months of investigation, the importer of these boxes was identified and StarHub will follow up with criminal prosecution against the illegal importer.
