Ex-TV actor Huang Yiliang charged for hurting woman

Former MediaCorp actor Huang Yiliang has been charged in court for voluntarily hurting a woman.

The veteran actor allegedly caused the woman to fall after grabbing her by the neck when he noticed that she did not properly dispose of her dog’s faeces, reported Shin Min Daily News.

The incident happened at around 7:15pm on 20 May at Toa Payoh Lorong 2.

50-year-old Huang is best known as an actor with MediaCorp, where he was a three-time Best Supporting Actor at the annual Star Awards. He left the company in 2008 to set up his own production house.

Huang first appeared in court last Wednesday and will attend a pre-trial conference this Thursday.

If found guilty of voluntarily causing hurt, he can face a maximum jail term of two years, and a S$5,000 fine.
