Google+ trends: Super Bowl

On Monday, February, Google + users are talking about Sunday night's American football showdown -- the Super Bowl.

Sunday night's Super Bowl, the highlight of the American football season, saw power outages, performances from Beyoncé and members of Destiny's Child and of course, the Baltimore Ravens beating the San Francisco 49ers 34-31.

The power outage that affected this year's Super Bowl is one of the biggest talking points to come out of the game with Google users sharing various images and popular memes making light of the occasion. User Arnold Melm simply writes "Who switched the lights off" followed by a picture of a depressed yellow blob under a rain cloud, while user Mat Luscheck used the opportunity to share this post of a gif of a "sad" team member of the 49ers on a bench surrounded by falling ticker tape.

On a more serious note, also trending today is "World Cancer Day". World Cancer Day takes places on February 4 and is designed to raise awareness of the disease as well as issues regarding its prevention, detection and treatment.
