Marina Bay Sands gets new CEO

Marina Bay Sands (MBS) has appointed George Tanasijevich as its new Chief Executive Officer and President, replacing Thomas Arasi, who left the company in February this year.

A gaming analyst noted that Tanasijevich was well-received within the firm and has good relations with the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Before his appointment at MBS, he was Director of Development at Sands (Macau) and was responsible for managing its Cotai Strip projects. He also used to serve as the Senior Vice President of Equity Markets at CapitaLand Limited.

Meanwhile, Benny Zin, former interim Chief Operating Officer and vice-president for Conventions and Exhibitions, has been appointed as a full-fledged COO of MBS, overseeing the integrated resort's Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions (MICE) scheme.
