PC download charts: 'Grand Theft Auto V,' 'Controller Companion'
The PC release of "Grand Theft Auto V" sees it top charts on Steam, GameStop and Gamersgate, come Monday April 20, 2015.
Retail chain GameStop also made bank on additional codes for virtual currency within its multiplayer mode, "Grand Theft Auto Online."
"Grand Theft Auto V" even appeared twice on the Steam chart, one credible explanation being that one chart entry was for the pre-order version -- which contained additional bonuses -- and the other was the standard package.
New release "Mortal Kombat X" also made a bit of a splash on Steam, while sales on Massively Multiplayer Online game "Guild Wars 2" and extra credits for free-to-play title "Warframe" also found a willing audience on GameStop and Gamersgate respectively.
GOG's promo on role-playing games saw "Neverwinter Nights 2" and "Divinity: Original Sin" join recent release "Pillars of Eternity" and upcoming adventure "The Witcher 3."
On Itch.io, Koga Tech's useful $3 "Controller Companion" gamepad app vaults straight into top spot, the handy piece of software allowing users to completely replace mouse clicks and keyboard functions with moves and presses from a standard gamepad instead.
