Portugal coach Paulo Bento on Friday refused to answer a question about vociferous media criticism which reached a high with last weekend's home warm-up 3-1 loss to Turkey. With matches against Germany, Holland and Denmark - all previous winners - to negotiate Bento said: "We have made a lot of sacrifices and worked hard to be here. We are here owing to the qualities of the players and their performances. "I couldn't care about the criticism as it is the players who merit my attention. "After the competition I will respond to everything but during it I shall not reply to questions on criticism," vowed Bento.
