‘Connectivity issue’ disrupts DBS, POSB ATM and iBanking services

Some DBS and POSB automated teller machines and online banking services were disrupted for several hours on Monday.

In a statement to Yahoo Singapore, a DBS spokesperson said, “A small number of DBS/POSB ATMs and selected banking services were intermittently impacted by a connectivity issue.”

“Immediate steps” were taken to resolve the issue, after which, all services were fully restored at about 3pm, according to the statement.

During that time, a “vast majority” of DBS and POSB services and branches continued to function normally and staff were able to assist customers in banking transactions as well, the spokesperson said, adding that customer accounts remained secure.

DBS and POSB sent out tweets at 2:05pm to acknowledge delays in selected DBS/POSB services and apologised for the inconvenience.

According to Channel NewsAsia, the bank was aware of the problem well before customers began to complain on social media at about 10am. Redhill, Harbourfront and Ang Mo Kio were among the locations users where customers were affected, the report said.
