1 dead, 25 injured in lorry collision along Tanah Merah Coast Road

A collision involving two lorries along Tanah Merah Coast Road on Tuesday killed one person and injured 25 others.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said in a statement that they received a call from a member of public at around 6:20am Tuesday informing them of the accident.

Upon arrival, SCDF found a man trapped at the driver’s seat of one of the lorries.

Hydraulic tools were used to rescue the trapped victim.

"SCDF personnel also attended to 25 other casualties at the accident site, one of whom was pronounced dead by  paramedics at scene," SCDF added.

One suffered fractured limbs while 24 others had head and facial injuries.
