10 Iconic Photos of the Brat Pack in Their Heyday

See some of the best photos from the 1980s of Molly Ringwald, Demi Moore, Rob Lowe and more members of the famous crew, subjects of a new documentary

Nearly 40 years after this group of actors were dubbed the Brat Pack, fans are gearing up to hear more first-hand accounts from the faces behind the name in the upcoming documentary, BRATS.

"It had professional ramifications," director Andrew McCarthy, a member of the group, told PEOPLE about the cheeky nickname in an interview ahead of the film's premiere. "The public embraced us, but the business reacted to it in a negative way."

On the tails of the movie's premiere at the 2024 Tribeca Film Festival last week — for which several stars stepped out — the film will debut on Hulu on June 13.

'It' Couple

In the midst of riding the Brat Pack wave, Emilio Estevez and Demi Moore began dating and got engaged in 1985. Though the two never wed, they reunited years later to play a couple onscreen in his 2006 film Bobby.

Here, the two stepped out to support the premiere of the classic 1980s film Pretty in Pink, which starred fellow Brat Packers Molly Ringwald, Jon Cryer and Andrew McCarthy.

As one of the film's stars, Jon Cryer rocked a bolo tie at the 1986 premiere of Pretty in Pink.

Detention No More

In 1986 — the year after this trio starred as three of the five high school students stuck in detention for the day in The Breakfast Club — Ally Sheedy, Judd Nelson and Anthony Michael Hall went out together in L.A.

When it was time to mark the premiere of 1987's Some Kind of Wonderful starring Lea Thompson and Mary Stuart Masterson, Andrew McCarthy was on hand to support his pals.

During the same event, Demi Moore posed with Ally Sheedy, her St. Elmo's Fire costar. Earlier this year, Moore shared her thoughts about the nickname she and her costars were given back in the day.

“For me, I didn’t love it, being thought of as a brat because I thought it kind of diminished us as professionals," she shared. "But I didn’t carry it.”

Star Power

While maybe not considered an official member of the Brat Pack, there's no denying that Michael J. Fox was one of the most famous actors of the '80s — so it's no surprise he spent time with the likes of Rob Lowe.

Molly Ringwald gave fans a little look at a behind-the-scenes moment shared between herself and Jon Cryer in a throwback posted in 2014.
