11-Year-Old Reports Triple Murder of Her Grandmother and 2 Aunts After She Was Grazed by Bullet
Johnnie Bernard Brown was charged with three counts of murder, authorities said
Three women were found shot to death in a Florida home after an 11-year-old girl who was grazed by a bullet called 911 to alert police about the shooting. A 46-year-old man has since been charged with three counts of murder.
The shooting occurred early Tuesday morning in Lawtey, the Bradford County Sheriff said in a release posted to Facebook. The 11-year-old who dialed 911 multiple times was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Police arriving on scene said they found Johnnie Bernard Brown walking in front of the home with several cuts on his body. He was arrested and charged with three counts of murder, court records reviewed by PEOPLE indicated. It is not immediately clear if he has entered a plea or retained an attorney.
ABC affiliate WCJB reported that the victims were identified as Qaunique Robinson, 49, and her daughters, Danesha Sims, 27, and Wynshay Roddey, 25, by family members at the scene.

Bradford County Sheriff's Colonel Brad Smith told First Coast News in an on-camera interview that Brown was in a long-term relationship with one of the victims, later identified as Robinson. Smith told the outlet that the 11-year-old was the granddaughter of Robinson and the niece of Sims and Roddey.
Sheriff Gordon Smith hailed the strength of the young girl who alerted authorities to the scene. “She’s a strong little young lady,” Smith told News4Jax. “She’s so resilient but at the end of the day what long-term effects does this have on this child?”
