Next week's Coronation Street will see Paul jeopardise his relationship with Billy, while Stephen steps up his plan to manipulate Elaine. Meanwhile, Gemma's exhaustion places Bertie in jeopardy.
Here's a look at 12 big moments coming up.
1. Paul is caught in the middle
As the chilli-eating competition to raise money for Paul's equipment gets underway, Gemma reminds everyone to donate generously. Paul is touched to learn that the event has raised £800.
However, Paul's mood sours when he returns home and is caught in the middle as Billy and Bernie argue the benefits of religion versus crystal therapy. Fed up with their bickering, Paul storms out.
2. Paul makes a huge mistake
Paul takes a break from the drama at home by escaping to a hotel bar. He's surprised to see Zac, an old flame, at the bar and offers to buy him a drink.
The next morning, Paul wakes up in a hotel bedroom. He's horrified to realise that Zac is nowhere to be found and has taken the £800 charity money from Paul's jacket.
3. Billy learns the truth about Paul's evening
Paul returns home and makes out to Billy that he had a few too many to drink and passed out on a friend's sofa.
When Billy offers to take the charity money to the bank and suggests that they use it to buy a stairlift, the guilt is too much for Paul. Paul admits to Billy that he ran into Zac and that things got out of hand. Billy is stunned by Paul's confession.
4. Stephen pulls the wool over Carla's eyes
Carla demands a business meeting with Seagull Limited, prompting Stephen to turn to his ex, Gabrielle for help. Stephen asks Gabrielle to pose as a consultant and promises to make it worth her while.
Gabrielle's performance as a consultant over Zoom call wins Carla over, but Stephen's plan is thrown into jeopardy when Sarah arrives and interrupts the meeting.
5. Tim makes his feelings clear
Elaine is delighted when Stephen reveals that he has booked a wedding consultation with a personal shopper and sends her and Audrey on a day out.
When Elaine returns home with her wedding outfit, she's brought down to Earth when Tim makes it clear that he doesn't approve of her relationship with Stephen. Elaine is gutted when Tim tells her he won't be attending the wedding.
Stephen advises Elaine to write a letter to Tim explaining how much he has hurt her and that she can't take it anymore.
6. Stephen raises alarm over Elaine's mental health
Stephen reveals to Dr Gaddas that he fears Elaine is depressed and may take drastic action.
Sally is shocked when Stephen also shares his concerns with her and decides to talk to Tim. Sally tells Tim that Stephen is worried Elaine might be depressed and suggests he change his mind for Elaine's sake.
7. Gemma confides in Rita
Joseph is upset when Chesney explains that they can't afford to send him to summer club. In a bid to cheer him up, Gemma suggests she'll ask Jenny for more shifts to earn the extra money.
Chesney heads out to work and Gemma feels the strain of looking after five kids alone.
Later, Gemma breaks down in front of Rita and explains that she's feeling exhausted. She says that the added pressure of Paul's illness has taken its toll and that it feels like when she suffered from post-natal depression. Rita insists Gemma turn to Dr Gaddas for help.
8. Bernie offers to help Gemma
When Daniel and Michael drop off Bertie and Glory, Gemma prepares herself for another tough day with a house full of kids.
Having heard from Chesney that Gemma is taking antidepressants again, Bernie tries to make life easier by offering to look after the kids for an hour while Gemma goes to the café. Beth lashes out at Gemma for slacking on the job, causing Gemma to rush home in tears.
9. Gemma places Bertie in danger
The exhaustion finally gets the better of Gemma when she rests her eyes while looking after the kids. With Gemma asleep, Bertie empties her bag and finds her antidepressants.
When Daniel and Daisy arrive to pick up Bertie, they're miffed to see Gemma asleep on the job but are soon horrified to realise that Bertie has swallowed the tablets.
10. Ryan's first day at work doesn't go according to plan
Despite his fears of being in the public eye again, Ryan tells Carla that he feels ready to go back to work.
Meanwhile, Daisy reaches out to Ryan to make amends. Still hurt about discovering that she was posing as Crystal, Ryan brushes her off.
Ryan returns to the Bistro for his first shift, but Leanne is furious to hear a customer complaining about Ryan's scars. Leanne defends Ryan to the customer and labels him a hero, but Ryan only catches the end of her speech. Embarrassed, Ryan rushes out.
11. Ryan has a new admirer
Having smoothed things over with Ryan, Leanne agrees that he can work behind the scenes until he feels comfortable dealing with the public again.
Ryan tries to get a good deal on a new wine contract by flirting with the supplier, Rose, over the phone. However, Ryan is thrown when Rose tells him she has checked him out on social media and questions if he's still single. Later, Leanne thanks him for securing the deal and reveals that Rose is going to drop by the bistro for a visit.
12. Adam struggles to put the past behind him
Adam confesses to Daniel that he's struggling to trust Sarah in the wake of her affair with Damon and doesn't like the fact that she's spending so much time with Owen.
When Adam calls at the factory with lunch for Sarah, he's annoyed to learn that she's at a hotel with Owen. Adam races to the hotel, ready for a fight.
