19th annual Webby Award winners announced

The winners of the 19th annual Webby Awards were announced on Monday, homing in on the best talents, websites schemes and services across the Internet.

Winners will be celebrated at a ceremony emceed by actor and comedian Hannibal Buress at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City on May 18.

The stars of Netflix's "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," Ellie Kemper and Tituss Burgess, will take home special achievement Webby awards for best actress and actor, while Chelsea Peretti from the Netflix show of the same name will be honored with a special achievement for outstanding comedic performance.

Jimmy Fallon won the Webby award and People's Voice award for best entertainment app, as well as the Webby for best television website.

Jimmy Kimmel won the comedy Webby in the online film and video category for his "Mean Tweets" segments, and his annual "Halloween Candy Prank," where children are made to believe that their parents ate their candy, won in the viral and branded entertainment categories in online film and video.

Vice Media racked up a total of 10 Webby awards and the #LikeAGirl campaign, from Leo Burnett Toronto, which won the prestigous agency of the year Webby award, received 11 honors, including viral marketing and online commercials among nine other catagories.

The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge -- a fundraising campaign that morphed into an international viral sensation -- will receive a special achievement award for raising well over a million dollars to help fight the disease as it delved into a myriad of social media platforms.

Dating app Tinder will receive the Webby breakout of the year award for amassing over 50 million monthly users and for establishing a new paradigm of "swiping" where right means yes and left means no.
