2 Ex-College Hockey Players ID'd as Victims of Murder-Suicide, Killer Was Dating One of the Victims
Meghan Moore and Sidney Capolino were fatally shot in their Miami apartment
Two former college hockey players were killed in an apparent murder-suicide on Saturday at the hands of a Miami man who was dating one of the victims.
Miami-Dade police responded to a report of shots fired at a condo complex, the department says in a press release. When they arrived, officers found a woman outside an apartment suffering from a gunshot wound before subsequent shots were heard from inside the residence, according to police.
Inside the apartment, police say they found another woman suffering from a gunshot wound and a man with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. All three were pronounced dead at the scene, police say.
Police identified the women as Meghan Moore, 25, and her roommate Sidney Capolino, 23. The man, Luis Napoles, 40, was dating Moore, police say.
Napoles shot Moore outside the apartment before going inside and killing Capolino and then turning the gun on himself.

Moore and Capolino were former teammates on the New England College women’s hockey team. The former graduated in 2021 while the latter graduated the following year, according to a statement from the school.
“Meghan and Sidney were known to many on campus, and we are keeping their families and friends in our thoughts and our prayers at this difficult time,” New England College’s statement reads. “As the campus community pauses to process the gravity of the event, it is important that we support and care for each other.”
