An accident in the wee hours of Sunday morning (22 October) involving a sports car and a taxi left two people injured and both vehicles badly damaged.

The Singapore Police Force said they were alerted to an accident between a taxi and a car along Yishun Ave 1 towards Yishun Ave 8 at 3.39am on Sunday.

Photos posted on social media show a McLaren car on the pavement, almost completely destroyed, and extensive damage to the right rear side of the Comfort taxi. Debris from the accident could be seen scattered all over the pavement and road.

Both the 56-year-old taxi driver and 27-year-old McLaren driver were taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, said police. The Singapore Civil Defence Force said it dispatched two ambulances to the scene, and sent a Chinese woman in her 50s and an Indian man in his 20s to the hospital.
