49ers get creative with Christian McCaffrey as the RB throws long TD pass
The San Francisco 49ers gave up a lot in the Christian McCaffrey trade, and they're going to use him in every way possible.
Even as a passer.
In Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Rams, McCaffrey flared out to his right and caught a pass from Jimmy Garoppolo. But that pass was backward and McCaffrey pulled up to throw it downfield, surprising the Rams defense. McCaffrey hit Brandon Aiyuk for a 34-yard score to tie the game 7-7.
It was a pretty good throw from McCaffrey on a well-timed play.

It's not McCaffrey's first career touchdown pass. He had a 50-yard touchdown pass in 2018 with the Carolina Panthers. He also had two incomplete passes in 2019, so the strike to Aiyuk brings his career completion percentage back up to 50 percent.
The 49ers invested in McCaffrey. They're going to get every drop out of their talented new star.
