Ol' flesh-bag Batman still has a vital place in our robot-dominated future, according to this fan-made animated short.

Produced by animator Mitchell Hammond, based on a Tony Guerrero concept, and soundtracked by 80s-influenced Noir Deco, "Batman versus The Terminator" sends Bruce Wayne up against Skynet's mechanical menace.

"30 years have passed since Bruce Wayne survived Skynet's nuclear blasts in August of '97," writes Hammond, placing us in the not-too-distant future.

The Batcave ensured that Wayne survived Skynet's global eviceration attempt; now he combs the wastes for resources, for allies, for a way to take down the Terminators from within.

"Batman versus The Terminator" can be found on YouTube, whose parent company Google acquired military robot specialist Boston Dynamics and seven other robotics groups during a six-month spree in 2013.
