5 Reasons "Avengers: Age of Ultron" will be Awesome
Finally, after 3 years of solo outings and a new team of superheroes somewhere in the known galaxy, the Earth's Mightiest Heroes are back together for a mission to save the world. Much has happened since "The Avengers". With the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D and the rise of a new supervillain who could prove to be the Avengers' most fearsome yet, the team is once again faced with new challenges to save mankind from extinction.
"Avengers: Age of Ultron" is easily going to be the biggest movie for this season and we can't wait to see Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, The Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye on the same screen again. That is already reason enough for anyone to go and see it.
However, in case you needed more reasons why you need to get yourself tickets to watch "Age of Ultron" when it opens on 23 April, then we've got five more for you!
The Avengers Goes Global
They wouldn't be called Earth's Mightiest Heroes if they weren't, you know, defending the entire Earth. "Age of Ultron" is promising to expand the scale that the Avengers are operating on. With a threat as large as Ultron who is aiming for human extinction, the Avengers are going to have their hands full protecting every corner of the Earth. "Age of Ultron" was shot on locations in Italy, New York (where a full scale set of the Avengers Tower was built), South Africa, England, and South Korea. A new character will also be introduced as a part of the Avengers' team, who hails from Korea.
New tech and new toys
In "Age of Ultron", the Avengers will be outmatched and outnumbered by their newest enemy. This brings Tony Stark to design a number of new and improved equipment for each member of the team so as to make them more effective in dishing out the pain. Not only will the team need to upgrade their gear, but they will also need to form stronger bonds to work as a tight team, if they are ever to survive, let alone defeat Ultron.
The Visual Effects
Given the new scale for the Avengers, it is no surprise that there will be a lot more special effects that are going to be used in "Age of Ultron". The last Marvel movie "Guardians of the Galaxy" had 2,750 special effects shots, but "Age of Ultron" has broken through that record with 3,000 VFX shots altogether, involving more than 10 VFX houses including the most respected Industrial Light & Magic. As for the motion capture, Andy Serkis has come on board to help in that department, along with taking an undisclosed role (in the flesh) that could make an appearance in future Marvel movies.
"Age of Ultron" will also be utilising shots taken by drones and remote cars. These drones and cars were controlled by the Korea National Champions of drone flying and remote cars, Menstru Pa and Pak Min Keu.
Hulkbuster vs. The Hulk
In "The Avengers" when Bruce Banner turned green and angry the first time, it meant bad news for everyone onboard the Hellicarrier, which sent everyone, especially Black Widow, scampering. Now knowing the danger that The Hulk poses, Tony Stark has taken his own contingencies to handle the situation should the need arises again, which has resulted in one of the best moments we want to watch in full in "Age of Ultron". Really if there was a need for a scene to top The Hulk smashing puny Loki to the ground, it is to see The Hulk picking on someone his own size for once.
New Trailer of "Star Wars Episode VII"
We're as bummed out as you are that Joss Whedon has decided not to include a post-credits treat for "Age of Ultron", like he did for "The Avengers". However, if the rumours are true, we could be treated right at the beginning of the movie with the new trailer of J.J. Abram's "Star Wars Episode VII" for the big screen which was recently released online. There is much credit that this could happen, given that Disney owns the rights to both properties now. So we definitely don't mind being reminded of the heroics that is happening in a galaxy far, far away before we see The Avengers perform their own deeds on our home planet.
