The 7 Best Watches of the Week, From Travis Scott’s Audemars Piguet to Brooklyn Beckham’s Hublot

We spied a bunch of stellar watches at Pitti Uomo, but fashion’s elite weren’t the only ones showing off notable timepieces this week.

Ne-Yo flexed a Hublot Classic Fusion in his new music video, while fellow rappers Stormzy and Travis Scott were spotted wearing different versions of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. LeBron James also flaunted a Royal Oak at a game between the New York Liberty and the Las Vegas Aces, while Brooklyn Beckham stepped out wearing a Hublot Big Bang.

At the other, slightly more subtle end of the spectrum, Brandon Sklenar wore a Zenith Chronomaster Open to a screening of It Ends With Us in Texas and golfer Bryson Dechambeau rocked a classic Rolex Submariner Date at the U.S. Open.

Below are the best watch flexes of the week.

It looks like Travis Scott is done spruiking the watch he designed with Audemars Piguet. The rapper instead showed off another version of the Royal Oak at the Summer Smash Music Festival on June 14. Only unveiled last year, this 41 mm special edition features a white-gold case, bezel, and bracelet set with brilliant-cut diamonds. There are 994 stones on the watch totaling 9.74 carats. Perhaps even more dazzling, the sapphire dial showcases an openworked perpetual calendar movement (Caliber AP 5135) with date, day, leap year, month, week, and moon phase indicators. Price upon request, of course.

Brooklyn Beckham is turning out to be quite the watch collector—the perks of being a nepo baby, eh? The eldest son of Posh and Becks, who casually flexed a six-figure Patek Philippe Nautilus on a Twitch stream last November, showed off a Hublot Big Bang Integrated at the Cannes Lions International Festival Of Creativity this week. Released in 2022, the bold 42 mm timepiece features a case, bezel, and integrated bracelet all made of hardwearing blue ceramic. The skeleton dial is also blue ceramic and glimpses the complex, automatic chronograph movement (HUB1280). The piece will set you back $25,200, or maybe nothing if you have a famous footballer for a dad.

Bryson Dechambeau: Rolex Submariner Date

Golfer Bryson Dechambeau won the U.S. Open with a winning Rolex Submariner Date on his wrist. Released in the fall of 2020, this fourth-generation, two-tone Sub has a larger case (41 mm), thinner lugs, and a much improved movement (Caliber 3235) than the 1980s original. However, the overall design is pretty much the same. Oystersteel and yellow gold run across the case and Oyster bracelet, contrasting the blue Cerachrom bezel and royal-blue dial. Nicknamed the “bluesy” for obvious reasons, Ref. 126613LB retails for $15,600.

LeBron’s love affair with the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak continues. The four-time NBA champ, who has previously sported the “Black Panther” iteration and the 50th-anniversary edition, flexed another RO at a game between the New York Liberty and the Las Vegas Aces on June 15. Released in 2019, the Offshore “Camo” pairs a 44 mm pink-gold case with a brown mega tapisserie dial and a brown ceramic bezel. The highlight is, of course, the bad-ass camouflage strap. The piece originally retailed for $45,900 and costs about the same on the secondary market.

Brandon Sklenar: Zenith Chronomaster Open

Actor Brandon Sklenar took a high-low approach at a screening of It Ends With Us in Texas this week, pairing an understated denim ‘fit with a dazzling Zenith Chronomaster Open. Released in 2022, this model was based on the flagship Chronomaster from the mid-2000s but was equipped with a new El Primero movement. The high-frequency chronograph movement (Caliber 3600) is an updated version of the original El Primero caliber 400 from 1969, which Zenith contends was the first autowinding chronograph movement every produced, thus the name. The updated version enables stopwatch functionality with one-tenth of a second segmentation. The timepiece also features a sleek 39.5mm steel case, an integrated steel bracelet, and a matte black dial with tricolor counters. The stylish piece retails for $10,300.

Ne-Yo: Hublot Classic Fusion Aerofusion Black Magic

The watch Ne-Yo wore in his new “2 Million Secrets” music video is no great secret. The three-time Grammy-Award Winning artist showed off a stunning Classic Fusion Aerofusion Black Magic several times in the seven-minute clip. (Pause at 2:28 for a particularly nice closeup.) Released in 2015, the timepiece pairs a 45 mm black ceramic case and bezel with a skeletonized dial and black strap for a decidedly menacing and monochromatic aesthetic. Powered by Hublot’s automatic Unico chronograph (HUB1155), the watch offers a 42-hour power reserve. It won’t cost you $2 million, but a comparatively modest $17,100.

Stormzy: Audemars Piguet Rainbow Royal Oak

You may have expected Stormzy to wear a Tambour or Escale to the Louis Vuitton Menswear show in Paris on June 18, but the British rapper opted for an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak instead. Released in 2021, this technicolored iteration of the 1970s original features an octagonal bezel set with 32 baguette-cut tsavorites, emeralds, topazes, tanzanites, amethysts, and colored sapphires. The 41 mm case and bracelet are made of hammered 18-karat pink gold that creates a striking frosted finish. To top it off, the openworked gray dial spotlights the intricate self-winding movement (Caliber 3132). Certainly more eye-catching than the Tambour. Price is available upon request.
