7 Casualty spoilers for next week

Casualty spoilers follow.

Casualty is back next week after a three-month break and there's plenty of drama in store to celebrate.

Stevie will be tested to breaking point, while the truth connects Max and Jodie at last, and Faith returns to the Emergency Department.

Here's a full collection of the biggest moments coming up:

1. Stevie steps in to help Max

Max is becoming increasingly unwell and trying to keep it together in the middle of a chaotic ED.

Noticing his struggle, Stevie sifts through the chaos and takes over.

Stevie is determined to keep the order up as she treats 9-year old Noah, who was injured on a capsized fishing boat with his dad.

2. Faith returns to the ED

Faith is out of rehab and has been clean for 42 days.

Initially, when asked to return to work, she is hesitant as she can't remember doing her job sober.

As it happens, Faith ends up back at the ED after helping Carla, who is diabetic and has collapsed in the street.

Throughout the day, Faith is reminded, despite some uncertainty from her colleagues, why she loves her job.

3. Stevie is pushed to breaking point

Stevie's day goes from bad to worse as she tries to deal with the backlog of patients while beds are full.

Iain puts pressure on her to help an elderly patient called Irene, and Stevie promises she will do the best she can – but it's clearly a promise she can't keep.

4. Ryan is caught in the crossfire

Stevie is eventually forced to admit that there is still no bed for Irene. She agrees it isn't good enough, but reiterates that she can't work magic or create miracles.

Tragically, Irene's situation quickly worsens and she passes away.

Afterwards, Ryan is left with the unenviable task of getting Irene's husband Ray out of the room, but it's clear Ray is looking for revenge.

5. Jodie is left frustrated

Jodie gets a notification from Max's mum Stella, who she has been in touch with about their mutual concerns for Max.

She later impresses Max by diagnosing a sepsis case, but he can't help but give a backhanded compliment to be more aware next time.

In retaliation, Jodie comments on his health, but Max denies there's anything wrong.

6. Rash makes a worrying discovery

Rash learns that the care home his father Ashok is living in is closing down.

This leaves Rash scrambling, during a busy shift, to find a new one.

7. Max is honest with Jodie

Jodie presses on at Max until he tells her the truth – he has kidney failure. Max opens up further and apologises to Jodie for not being a father to her.

Max is quickly whisked away again, leaving Jodie to process this new turning point in their relationship.
